Fairhope Alpacas: Upcoming Events

Alpaca Farm Day! Open House
- September 26 & 27, 2009
Saturday and Sunday we will be Open to the Public
from 10am-3pm both days. We will have alpaca fiber
and alpaca products for sale. Visit our farm and see
what life is really like with alpacas. On Saturday
we will have Spinning demonstrations going on all
day. On Sunday from
3-4pm we will have a Q & A for those interested in
learning more about the alpaca business. Come see
our cria pronking in the fields and the lovely
products that are made from alpaca fleece!
*Out of respect for our
working livestock guard dogs, we ask that you please
leave your pets at home.
Alpacas 101: Topknot to Toenails*
- November 7, 2009
9:00am-5:00pm. This one day seminar will cover all you need
to know about raising alpacas before purchasing them. Topics covered
will include: the history of alpacas, selection
guidelines for purchasing alpacas, farm/ranch set-up,
financial aspects, business planning, marketing, herd
management with emphasis on raising alpacas in hot/humid
climates. In the afternoon there will be an opportunity
to get your hands on these precious creatures and learn
to halter them, trim toenails, etc. Click
